sights of Rome
So much to see. So much to do.
Here is a bit of what I saw either with RS tours or in the free time available: Trevi Fountain, The Pantheon, Piazza Navona with its fountains including Bernini's "Fountain of Four Rivers", the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, Trajan's Column, Castel Sant' Angelo, Bridge of Angels, San Clemente, Ecstasy of Saint Teresa by Bernini, the skeletal remains of the Capuchin Monks in the church of Santa Maria della Concezione dei Cappuccini, Bernini's "Triton Fountain", "Fountain of the Bees", and Caravaggio in San Luigi dei Francesi.
And this doesn't even include the Vatican Museum, Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel and La Pieta and St. Peter's Basilica in its own page, or the Borghese Gallery, Borghese Gardens, San Giovanni in Laterano (St. John Lateran), and Piazza del Popolo which I visited in my final extra day following the end of the tour, also in its own page.
Whew.
Best way to highlight them? A brief slide show, of course!
