Rick Steves' Tour group: Venice, Florence, Rome - May 2014
One of the reasons I went on the RS Tour was because I was traveling solo. I knew I could only feel confident traveling on my own in Europe within the safety and comfort of a group. And I was very blessed to have been a part of the group I was in. What surprised me a wee bit, though, was just how much fun it could be to travel with a group. If I had been traveling on my own and not part of a group - even if I had been with a friend - I wouldn't have been able to experience the kind of festive dinners and party atmosphere it offered - time and time again.
The food was incredible for all the group dinners but the lasagna in the final group dinner was still being talked about the next morning. Dario (restaurant owner) said that the secret was that his mother made it and "on the same day it was served". As fellow traveler Chris said, "I make my lasagna on the same day I serve it too, but it still doesn't taste like that one did!"
All of the people were friendly, wonderful, lovely people.
Thank you Rick Steves' tours! You can make a single traveler happy!
