Italian Cooking Class
In Florence we had an Italian cooking class! Wow. That would have been something I never would have done had I not been in a Rick Steves' tour, even if I wasn't going solo.
As you imagine, the class was great, great fun even though at one point our group had to 'start again'. (We were having so much fun we burnt the garlic.) Alesso, our chef helper, took one look at our frying pan, picked it up and silently and sadly dumped it all in the garbage. He said he was in charge so it was his fault. Very kind of him, if inaccurate.
Despite these few set backs it was marvelous. We cooked but Alesso and Alessandro, another chef, served us. AND we did a good job too - it was delicious!
In the picture with Alesso and Alessandro, Alesso is saying, "Men at work. Take the picture!"
